Excavator Operator

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to meet job specifications and requirements

  • Works delegation within the team

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all safe working policies and practices

  • Maintain and control onsite records

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

You’ll have a General Construction Induction (White Card), nationally recognised Excavator competency, and current driver's license (MR or higher, highly desirable). Experience with or the ability to learn Topcon technology and final trim will be highly advantageous.

You’ll have a strong eye for detail and quality.  Safety is important to us so strict adherence to Quality, Occupational Health Safety, and Environmental Management Systems is critical.

You’ll be able to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks, and possess effective problem-solving capabilities.   You’ll have strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.  This is a field-based role, so you’ll also need physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.

Teamwork is important to us, as is the ability work unsupervised with effective time management skills. You’ll have a positive “can do” attitude and excellent work ethic. 

WE WOULD ALSO LOOK FAVOURABLY ON

  • On-site leadership experience

  • Experience with civil construction plant and equipment

  • Experience in final trim, Topcon, Trimble

  • Medium Rigid (M/R) truck license or higher

  • Experience with maintaining plant and equipment

  • Proficiency in technology

Telecommunications Labourers

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Installation of pits, pipe, cables, and other telecommunication equipment

  • Rod, rope and prove using rodders, Vac Truck

  • Blockage repairs

  • Cable / Fiber optic hauling

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • General Construction White Card

  • Drivers Licence

  • Ability to read BYDA/DBYD plans

  • Attention to detail

  • The ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team

  • A positive attitude and excellent work ethic

  • Capacity to perform a physically demanding role

WE WOULD ALSO LOOK FAVOURABLY ON

  • Valid Medium Rigid (or higher)

  • Previous experience working around services (telco, gas, water etc)

  • Stop-Slow and Implement Traffic Management

  • Excavator licence and experience

  • Ability to complete standard paperwork

  • Basic iPad/Computer Literacy

  • First Aid and CPR
