Vacuum Excavation (also known as Non Destructive Digging or Hydro Excavation) is a soft excavation technology combining a high pressure water source with a vacuum to safely expose underground assets.

The main benefits of the process are that it allows us to provide a safer, faster, more effective and environmentally friendly means of excavation and for that reason is a preferred method when working around underground services and utilities.  In addition, using a Vacuum Excavation unit not only eliminates heavy machinery being tracked back and forth along a job site it also collects the spoil via the vacuum which allows for a cleaner site.

Vacuum Excavation is also used to expose underground services and utilities via a process called Potholing.  This allows us to locate and confirm the services and attend to service repairs as required.  We are qualified to assist you with your asset location requirements if required.

At Maintain Contracting we also utilise Vacuum Excavation to:-

  • excavate in confined or heavy serviced areas;

  • clean pits

  • dig post holes

  • trench
